Bastion Grimshaw was leading a somewhat normal life. Well, as normal a life as one can lead when your mother is in an insane asylum for murdering your father.

On his 21st birthday, Bastion has a vision of disappearing children and receives an unexpected inheritance from his dead father. He will soon learn that sometimes the dead aren't truly dead and there really are things that go bump in the night.
